HIGH-QUALITY THERMOPLASTIC FILM – A GROWING SECTOR

Today, thermoplastic film, resulting from the extrusion of BOPP, BOPET, PE, PP, ABS, PET, Nylon, PA, and PS, is an increasingly interesting product to be used in several application sectors.

A trend that consolidated within cutting-edge industrial production. As a matter of fact, the majority of plastic film production is associated with the growth of advanced technology sectors and ever-growing innovative production worldwide.

Sectors like agriculture, medical, and construction, are focussing their drive towards frequent innovation. Consequently, materials and production processes must adapt to upcoming innovations at a rapid pace. For such productions, it is vital to rely on impurity-free high-quality film.

INDUSTRIAL SECTORS REQUIRING THERMOPLASTIC FILM MOST

Thermoplastic film is required by several and diverse sectors. Today, a high request for the following film is recorded:

• Film intended for generic packaging
• Film intended for household products
• Film intended for food packaging
• Film intended for building and construction
• Film intended for furniture and furnishings
• Film intended for agriculture
• Film intended for medical sector

THE SCREEN CHANGER TO PLAY A PIVOTAL ROLE

Some details within the plastic extrusion line can make the difference for business operating budget – a distinctive feature manufacturers of thermoplastic film intended for the above listed sectors should be aware of. In particular, the screen changer is a key component in a plastic extrusion system and can prove to be essential to make business profitable.

How does a screen changer impact on operating budget in thermoplastic film production? Whenever manufacturing film resulting from plastic extrusion, it is essential that the screen changer is continuous and offers enough power to meet the high filtration needs of valuable high-quality impurity-free film. A screen changer should be self-cleaning as well to minimize maintenance costs and prevent operation interruptions, besides automating ordinary maintenance and avoiding downtimes.

THE BENEFITS FROM A POWERFUL, CONTINUOUS AND SELF-CLEANING SCREEN CHANGER

A high-filtration continuous self-cleaning screen changer offers consistent benefits for plastic extrusion systems:

• A high-filtration screen changer offers the chance to use recycled raw materials, mixed with virgin raw materials, thus minimizing production costs.
• A high-filtration screen changer offers the chance to deliver an impurity-free end product and value-added plastic products, besides entering markets requiring refined high-purity end product and making business highly profitable.
• Downtime minimization easily keeps production sustainable and operating budget under control.
• Mixing recycled and virgin raw materials offers the chance to comply with regulations in force in all countries imposing to reuse plastic materials in extrusion processes.

SELF-CLEANING CONTINUOUS SCREEN CHANGERS FROM COFIT AP SERIES

Which solution meets the need for a powerful self-cleaning continuous screen changer best? The AP series by Cofit has been designed to optimize the production of thermoplastic film, thus making production profitable.

Cofit AP screen changers are high filtering, continuous and self-cleaning. Cofit AP continuous and self-cleaning screen changers operate at over-500-bar pressure and offer filtering levels exceeding 10 microns. AP screen changers outstand for their amazing sturdiness and are virtually unbreakable because they have no motors, or hydraulic and pneumatic components.

Thanks to their user-friendliness and special design, Cofit AP screen changers do not require any maintenance interventions or high investments, both at purchase and start-up, and at operation stages.

An extrusion system equipped with an AP series screen changer drastically reduces operation interruptions due to maintenance interventions, enables the production of high-quality film, thus maximizing profits resulting from the sale of high-purity end products.
